چکیده

A variety of fishes consumed regularly are prone to pathogenic spoilage especially by different microbes. It is important find out microbiological quality fish that we consume protect the public health. Current research was conducted assess incidence Salmonella and Escherichia coli (E. coli) contamination in three selected catfish species namely, Ayer (Sperata seenghala), Pabda (Ompok pabda) Magur (Clarias batrachus) five rivers (Dhepa, Atrai, Punorvoba, Kakra, Ghorveshori) Dinajpur district. The study showed E. positive isolates were 33.33% 55.55% Punorvoba river, 31.03% 50.00% Atrai 30.19% 56.60% Dhepa 29.63% 59.26% Ghorveshori river 27.08% 56.25% Kakra respectively. Highest percentage found Ompok pabda (39.40%) Clarias batrachus (63.84%), Lowest Sperata seenghala (26.50% 41.07%), greater than for each experimental samples very alarming consumption wild catfish. At same time, microbial water Dhepa, not satisfactory regarding Asian J. Med. Biol. Res. 2022, 8 (1), 9-15

Relationship between Frequency of Escherichia Coli and Prevalence of Salmonella and Shigella Spp. in a Natural River

Introduction: Microbial contamination prediction through detecting the indicator bacteria in natural waters is the first health and environmental step for preventing the transmission of water-associated diseases. This study was designed to determine the correlation between Escherichia coli as the indicator bacterium, on the one hand, and Salmonella and Shigella Spp. As the pathogenic bacteria, ...

Fecal carriage of Escherichia coli O157:H7 and carcass contamination in cattle at slaughter in northern Italy.

Feedlot cattle slaughtered at a large abattoir in northern Italy during 2002 were examined for intestinal carriage and carcass contamination with Escherichia coli O157:H7. Carcass samples were taken following the excision method described in the Decision 471/2001/EC, and fecal material was taken from the colon of the calves after evisceration. Bacteria were isolated and identified according to ...

Spatial Variability of Escherichia coli in Rivers of Northern Coastal Ecuador

The use of contaminated surface water continues to be a pressing issue in areas of the world where people lack improved drinking water sources. In northern coastal Ecuador, many communities rely on untreated surface water as their primary source of drinking water. We undertook a study to explore how microscale river hydrodynamics affect microbial water quality at community water collection loca...
